A Glimpse

Yesterday, I took some photos of Conor as part of my current 365 photo project. It was a quick few minutes on our deck as the sun was setting and Conor was about to head off to bed. I took photos of him singing a song for me, making silly faces, and just having fun. It was a nice ending to the day together. Lighthearted, casual, fun.

After he headed down to bed, I pulled the memory card out of the camera and took a quick peek at the shots I got of him. This one (see below) REALLY jumped out at me... not because of my photographic skill or artistry, but because I got a glimpse of Conor as a teenager. There's something about his expression and posture that screamed "I'm growing up and one day, will be a teen" to me. Just wanted to share...

Catching up on my 365 project

When I started out on this 365 photo project with Mamas with Cameras, my goal was to create a weekly blog post for each week of photos. Well, here we are almost at the end of February and I have yet to post any photos from this month. The best laid plans, eh?? So, here is a photo avalanche showing my February-thus-far. I hope you enjoy!

Mamas with Cameras 365 Photo Challenge: Week 2

Well, another week of my Mamas with Cameras 2016 photo challenge is complete and I'm really excited about some of my shots! It has been another fun week behind the lens, but also somewhat challenging week due to the vast amount of darkness we seem to have this time of year. Fortunately, we had some breaks in the weather, which gave me a few opportunities to shoot outside without fearing that the camera will get drenched.

In order to keep the kids from getting burned out on being photographed, I am continually looking for new subjects and ways to challenge myself. They're still my favorites to shoot, but I try to limit how much I shoot them to make sure I'm remembering to interact with them and not just capture what they're doing. Oh, that double-edged sword of being a mama with a camera!

Without further ado... week 2's photo gallery:

2015 Photo Challenge: Week 2

I finished up week two of my Mamas with Cameras March 2015 photo challenge and am pretty excited that (a) I've kept it up so far ... especially considering how frighteningly busy the past few weeks have been and (b) that I'm getting a few worthwhile shots.

Without further ado, week two.

Conor's Bubble Face

The photography group that I belong to (Mamas with Cameras) is doing a month-long photo challenge this month. It is akin to the 365 photo project I completed last summer ... just a lot shorter. There are no rules for the photos, just take 'em.

I snapped this one of Conor a few days ago and can't help myself from returning to it on a somewhat regular basis. There is just something about his expression and the look in his eyes that simply captivates me.

After I shot this photo, he started doing silly faces and some smiling faces, but this one was the winner to me.

So, I wanted to share it with all of you...
